Do I qualify for a Missouri Medical Marijuana Card?

If you have a qualifying medical condition, you are eligible for a Missouri medical marijuana card.

The Missouri Medical Marijuana Program allows physicians to determine which medical conditions qualify you for a medical marijuana card. Health and Life Missouri believes everyone deserves access to medical marijuana.

We work hard to maintain our 100% success rate for certifying medical conditions. If you think you have a qualifying condition, under the Missouri Medical Marijuana Program, you probably do!

If we can't get you certified for a qualifying condition, we will refund 100% of your payment.

How long will it take to get my medical card?

If you are a Health and Life Missouri Patient, your Electronic Physician Certification is generally available within one hour after your appointment. The State has recently started sending an email to patients when a physician certification is ready for use in the patients application.

If Health and Life Missouri is preparing and submitting your state application, you will be notified your application has been submitted to the state within one hour of your appointment. 

Your state application, once submitted, will generally be processed by the state within 10-12 days. BUT, they have up to 30 days to process.

Will I need my medical records?

No. The Missouri Medical Marijuana Program allows physicians/nurse practitioners to use medical records OR medical history. We will ask you for information on your medical conditions for your appointment.

What do I need for my state application?

Your state application will ask you to provide the following:

 - Identifying Information, including your name, date of birth, social security number, contact information, and residence/mailing address

 - Documentation, including your Physician Certification,  a copy of a state-issued photo ID, and a color photo of your face

If you chose to have Health and Life Missouri prepare your state application, we will make sure we the documents you need for your state application.

Can I use my out-of-state ID for my state application?

Yes. Any valid state- or federally-issued photo ID satisfies the state's photo I.D. requirement. 

What are the State Fees for getting a medical card?

The State application fees are:
New/Renewing Patient and Caregiver Application Fee - $25
Patient Cultivation Application Fee - $50

Will my medical marijuana card be mailed to me?

No. The state will notify you of your approval through email. Once you receive this email you will need to log back into your state account to download your license. If you came through Health and Life Missouri, and you let us know you were approved, we can download your license and email it to you. 

Can I go to more than one dispensary?

Yes! The Missouri Medical Marijuana program allows patients to purchase from any licensed dispensary in the state. Can I grow my own medical marijuana plants?

Yes! Patient Cultivation can be added to your license at any time. The state will charge a $50 application fee upon submission. Your cultivation license will allow you to grow 6 plants less than 14 inches tall, 6 plants over 14 inches tall but not in flower, and 6 plants in flower. It also increases the amount of dried processed flower you can possess (at home) to 3 months worth, or 18 oz. How much medical marijuana can I buy?

Licensed Medical Marijuana Patients can purchase up to 6 oz. of dried, processed flower, or it's equivalent in oil, tinctures, and edibles every 30 days. 

I've been using 6oz a month but it's not enough. Can I get my monthly amount increased?

Yes! The state allows patients to apply for an "alternative amount" if you have a need for more than the normal limit. 

Can anyone find out I have my medical marijuana card?

No. The information used for your physician certification visit and state application is protected by HIPAA. Only Law Enforcement verifying if you are a licensed patient through the MULES system, and people you choose to tell, will have access to your medical marijuana card status.

What is a Caregiver?

A Caregiver is a person chosen by a Patient to do all the things a patient can legally do. A Patient's Caregiver can purchase, possess, transport, and cultivate (with license) for them. 
Caregivers must be at least Twenty-one (21) years of age or older;
Responsible for managing the well-being of a Qualified Patient;
and Designated by the qualified patient on the primary caregiver’s application for an identification card  

Can I have more than 1 Caregiver?

Yes! Patients can have 2 caregivers. 

How many patients can a Caregiver have?

How old do I need to be to get a missouri medical card?

Missouri does not have an age limit for a Medical Marijuana Card.  Patients under the age of 18 will need parental consent and a parent to act as a caregiver.

Do I have to live in Missouri to get a Medical Marijuana Card?

No. There is no longer a residency requirement for patients wanting a Missouri Medical Marijuana Card.
